Snowflake Lace Project

This is a sweet easy project that you can enjoy throughout the winter season.
Materials:
1 Three inch lace doily
1 Piece of 7" x 7" blue wool
White DMC FLoss
Needle
Art Glitter Fabric Adhesive or Fabric Glue that dries clear.
Art Glitter Ultra Fine Transparent Glitter in Crystal
Small Paint Brush
American Accents Heirloom White Spray Paint
Cardboard 5" x 5" in size
Duck Tape
Frame with a 5" x 5" opening (Frame shown is available in the Specialty Frame section)

Step 1. Spray paint your lace doily with he white spray paint. This gives it a white dusting look and stiffens the lace. Let dry.

Step 2. Take your piece of wool and stitch lace doily to wool using white DMC and a small whip stitch.

Step 3. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! It is called Art Glitter and I found it at Roberts Craft. Their website is www.artglitter.com . Their glue dries perfectly clear and the glitter comes in so many colors. The thing I love about it is how incredibly fine it is. It truly looks like fairy dust or for this project, snow glistening.
So take the glue and using a small paint brush "paint" glue on the lace doily where you want it to sparkle. I lightly touched all the points and stingers in between.

Step 4. Dip your brush into the magic glitter and touch it on the doily where you have your fabric glue. Because this stuff is so fine you will see it glisten all the wool under your doily and some will get on your background. It is perfect to have the glistening all over the project. Some got on frame and looks magical.

Step 5. Let dry 4 to 5 hours.
Step 6. Take your cardboard and wrap the wool background over the piece and tape down with the duck tape.
Step 7. Frame in a 5" x 5" frame. Frame shown in picture is offered in the Specialty Frame Section.
I hope you enjoy this simple little project. I've made a few to give as gifts. I love the glistening of the glitter and how it sparkles in candle light. I was so inspired with this product that I am using it in my new winter wool design "Snowmen At Play" which will be available this month.
Have fun and if you have any questions, let me know.
