Happy New Year to all!  Can you believe it's 2010 already?  I love the feeling of fresh new starts.  For me I started the new year by packing up the projects that have been sitting waiting to be made into something spectacular and am starting fresh with my "Love Grows" pattern and first applique quilt pattern.

I drew this design a year ago, have bought several lines of fabric to make it with and always put it on the shelf until I got the "other" projects done first.  Well...I brought it out last night and am cutting it all out tonight.  It's a good Sunday night thing to do wouldn't you say?  I'm so excited to see this done!!!  I found the perfect fabric and am ready to turn one of my favorite drawings into a super cute quilt, pillow, stitch and of course framed set.

You know my motto "Do one thing each day that makes you giggle!".  This year my resolve is to only do those things I am passionate about.  Time is so precious that I only want to spend it on the things that matter the most.  So if I get time to sew after my family time and work time, the project will have to be faaaaaabulous!

In the mean time I wanted to share a free pattern idea with you that I made over the holiday break.  I saw these lace doilies in a craft store and they reminded me of a snowflake.  My bedroom is very shabby chic and I wanted it framed in an antique white frame to sit with my collection of snowmen that hang out on my bedroom sofa table.

Snowflake Lace

I am posting the instructions and  free pattern for this project tomorrow evening.  My photo processor is freezing up on me and so instead of taking a few hours to post these photos, I am going to go make dinner for my children.  We are having apple pancakes, sausage and eggs...yep...breakfast for dinner!

Our Christmas Kiddos...2009

They are playing a game in the kitchen waiting for me.  So I am going to go catch a giggle or two with them before we all head back to school and work.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your families and friends.  See you tomorrow evening!
