The turkey is thawing and the bread crumbs are drying, three more days until Thanksgiving. Growing up in New York I always watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade to the smell of pies and turkey roasting. I've tried giving my kids the television version. I have to bribe them with pumpkin and cranberry bread to get early enough to watch it in Utah...but it a fun thing to do together.

WE GATHER TOGETHER
Whatever your traditions I hope you are able to gather together with your loved ones and share a meal together and remember the blessings of this last year. We were lucky to have our children together for an early Thanksgiving dinner celebration before they all went home to Washington and Oregon. This week we will have two dinners. One with the extended family and one with the college kids. I bribe them with a second dinner the day after Thanksgiving if they help me decorate the house for Christmas.
