Hi again! We are back from our vacation to Washington. We had a wonderful time with our daughter Camilla and her husband Mike, and their beautiful baby Gracie. I LOVE being a grandma! Even though I feel way too young to be one, being Gracie's grandma is the joy of my life right now!!!

Our Gracie...just love that smile!

We found dozens of sand dollars and shells and put our feet in the water for a few minutes. It was the coldest I've been at the beach in the summer. The high was 53 degrees and the rain was hitting us sideways...but it was so beautiful and peaceful.

I finished one of my favorite patterns this last week, Families Are Like Quilts. I love the saying! Families are like quilts sometimes they become worn and unravelled, but they can always be stitched back together with love. Isn't it so true? So for all of us who love quilts and our families...this is the perfect saying. I finished it with civil war fabrics to make it look like it's been around forever. You can find the pattern in Everyday Thoughts and the frame in Bead Board Frames.

This week I'm getting my kids into school and my daughter off to college and making three quilts as well as finishing my new fall patterns. We moved some rooms around in our house to make a new guest room, move my boys upstairs and create a new larger space for my sewing room/office. So now I am energized and ready to play...sew! I'll post a few pick of progress later this week. I hope you have a great week!
